Hi, I’m Marianna, the teacher and resource creator behind Creatively Comprehensive.
I create upper elementary resources for teachers who know their students fill in enough bubbles. With clear expectations and built-in support, your students will have the foundation to think, choose, and figure things out for themselves.
With decades of experience in the “testing grades,” I firmly believe students can handle the bigger work of grades 3–5 without giving up the creativity, movement, and joy that keep them connected to learning.
They are ready to make choices, explain their thinking, solve problems, and take more responsibility for the work. They still need support, but they do not need every step decided for them.
I create resources that give students a clear place to begin, then leave room for them to think, move, discuss, create, and figure things out. The goal is not to make learning feel easier. It is to make the work feel more meaningful and worth doing.
Students make purposeful decisions about how they practice, respond, and show what they understand.
Clear directions, examples, and organizers give students enough support to begin without doing the thinking for them.
Use resources for independent work, small groups, whole-class lessons, centers, or wherever the week takes you.
Students take more responsibility for their ideas, decisions, and finished work.
I’m Marianna, and most of my resource ideas start with something small I notice in a classroom. A student who has more to say but needs a better way in. An activity that works, but asks the teacher to do far too much of the work. A lesson that could be more meaningful with a little more choice, movement, or room to think.
I love taking those moments and turning them into something clear, useful, and ready for real students. There are usually too many tabs involved, several versions that almost work, and at least one point when I decide to redo the whole page. But the goal stays the same: create something a teacher can use confidently, and students can make their own.
Outside of resource creation, I’m usually draining the battery on my Kindle, walking the dog, watching Bravo like it’s my job, and cheering on my Florida Panthers.
