Ready to Take Things to the Next Level?
My Reading Response Menus have everything you need to set your students up for success all year long!
You know how valuable reading response is...
…but you have no idea where to even begin this year!
Do you get frustrated because…
- the things your students write show no understanding of the strategies you’re teaching?
- you’re reading response entries that have nothing to do with the book your students are reading?
- your students are just copying sections of the text without adding their own thoughts?
If so, you need the Reading Response Menus!
Before we continue, let me make clear that this resource isn’t just menus. It’s the entire system I used to take my own students from barely being able to write a sentence about what they just read, to writing organized, thoughtful responses that were focused on one skill or strategy.
Here's What's You Get:
- Fiction and Nonfiction Response Menus (3 Differentiated Options Each)
- Response Examples
- Recording Sheets - the perfect bridge between graphic organizers and writing paragraphs independently!
- Task Cards - great for centers
- Checklist and Rubric
- Digital Options
- Editable Options
- Full Implementation Instructions - includes slideshows!
"...but will it work in my classroom?"
Many different teachers and students have benefited from adding the Reading Response Menus to their ELA block. But you don’t have to take my word for it! Here are some comments from teachers who have purchased this resource:

Hi! I'm Marianna

I’m a lifelong educator who helps busy teachers stay passionate about providing engaging, standards-based lessons to their students.
I created these menus because I think organizing your thoughts and WRITING about reading is the path to comprehension – NOT bubbling in A, B, C, or D.
I believe that it’s possible for students of all ages and ability levels to create thoughtful, organized responses to what they reading. I was amazed at what my class could write once they received the proper support…and you will be, too!
I’m also a huge fan of reading, hockey (Go Panthers!), Bravo TV, Game of Thrones, and any and all doggos. My dog Sophie and I enjoy taking walks at the many parks near our house!
